"Krusty Dogs" is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from season 7. In this episode, the Krusty Krab starts selling hot dogs.

Synopsis
SpongeBob preparing a wiener.
After preparing a large batch of Krabby Patties, SpongeBob molds the leftover Krabby Patty meat into a strange shape that resembles a sausage. He calls it the Krusty Dog and Mr. Krabs starts serving it for twice the amount of a Krabby Patty. The Krusty Dogs become so popular that Mr. Krabs eventually decides to remove Krabby Patties from the menu. He even replaces the grill with a hot dog rotisserie machine and renames the Krusty Krab the Krusty Dogs, much to SpongeBob's dismay.
"Those wieners have got to go!"
SpongeBob soon teams up with Squidward to get rid of the Krusty Dogs and bring back the Krabby Patties. Squidward pretends that he is suffering abdominal pain due to the Krusty Dog and SpongeBob gives a speech trying to persuade the customers to go back to eating Krabby Patties, but neither one of these attempts work. In a last-ditch attempt to abolish the Krusty Dogs, SpongeBob stuffs a balloon inside one and quickly pumps air into it after he serves it to a customer. The Krusty Dog explodes in the customer's face and everyone panics, fleeing the scene.
Mr. Krabs decides to bring the Krabby Patties back and Squidward is made to stand outside the restaurant advertising the patties, only to be kicked by a woman who thinks he did not receive good enough education.
Production
On March 26, 2010, ABC News reporter Neil Karlinsky did a behind-the-scenes news story on the production of the series with the SpongeBob crew.[3] A storyboard panel from this episode could be seen on an artist's drawing tablet, with the panel being switched out for one from "The Curse of the Hex."
This episode, alongside "The Wreck of the Mauna Loa" were completed on September 24, 2010, a little over two weeks prior to its premiere date.

General
- This is the third episode in which Squidward wears a costume to promote the Krusty Krab. The first is "Bossy Boots" and the second is "The Krusty Sponge."
- This and its sister episode premiered on Leif Erikson Day and the birth of Squidward, Bubble Buddy and John O'Hurley.
- The Krusty Krab was shown to serve a hot dog known as the Krusty Kelp Dog in "Nasty Patty."
- This is the second episode in the series where the grill is removed. The first is "Bossy Boots."
- This episode is similar to "Bossy Boots," as both episodes involve the Krabby Patty being replaced by something.
- SpongeBob has trouble holding a pair of tongs, but when he boils the very first Krusty Dog prior, he uses tongs with no trouble.
- In some countries, this episode is temporarily removed from rotation during Ramadan.[4][5]
Dub facts
- In the French dub, before crossing out "Krabby Patty" on the Galley Grub, Mr. Krabs asks for a sponge instead of an eraser. This implies Mr. Krabs wants SpongeBob to wipe the words "Krabby Patty" off the Galley Grub, but SpongeBob's response remains reluctant, saying "un eponge"?

Errors
- After SpongeBob makes 16 patties with the patty cutter, it is shown that he blew out 12 patties, and when be blows them to the table, 39 patties appear.
- After Mr. Krabs crosses the Krabby Patty off the menu and the ambulance comes, Squidward's work station is not seen.
- SpongeBob should not have been able to see "The Krusty Dogs" on the sign because it was facing away from the Krusty Krab window, which is where he was.
- He also said "Krusty Dog!?!?" in disbelief when Mr. Krabs changed "The Krusty Krab" to "The Krusty Dogs."
- When Mr. Krabs is walking with the ladder, Incidental 37B is sitting at a table with Incidental 63, but right after Mr. Krabs removes Krabby Patties from the menu, Incidental 63 is at the table by herself.
- Mr. Krabs says "Those wieners aren't gonna rotisserie themselves," but they were in fact moving automatically on the rotisserie themselves.
