Samantha "Sam" Star^[4] is Herb and Margie's daughter and the older, long lost sister of Patrick Star and Squidina Star. She first appears as the main antagonist in the episode "Big Sister Sam" and later makes cameo appearances in The Patrick Star Show episodes "Klopnodian Heritage Festival" and "Tying the Klop-Knot."

Description

Sam is a large, obese, strong and muscular sea star with dark pink skin with darker pink dots across her body. She is roughly twice the size of Patrick. She has black hair that she wears in a side ponytail, which is fastened with a light lime-green scrunchie. Her outfit consists of a blue-violet top with flowers that are similar to Patrick's pants and are the same color as her hair scrunchie, as well as a matching skirt.

Sam has a very deep voice, similar to a caveman's. She often calls herself "Sister Sam." She can literally put on her mean face whenever she completely loses her temper by turning her head around. She becomes very aggressive and destructive and can end up destroying anything.

Personality

Sam is shown to be highly aggressive by her clarity. This can be true as she is easily angered by any person she does not recognize. However, she expresses a brotherly bond with her younger brother and defends him from SpongeBob when she mistook physical contact as aggression.

In addition to her supportive behavior, her level of intelligence is relatively lower than Patrick's as she speaks in incomplete sentences and has no regard for other people. She talks in the third person.

Biography

She was the first child and only daughter of Herb and Margie Star.

She was lost in a surf when she and Patrick were kids, but eventually returned and paid Patrick a visit.

Sam comes to town to visit Patrick. She then gets very violent and aggressive, demolishing SpongeBob and Squidward's houses. Squidward angrily objects, but she gets angry at him. She steals stuff from Squidward's house until it is completely destroyed.

She is seen picking out stew on a stick at the Klopnodian Heritage Festival.

She attends Bunny and Cecil's wedding ceremony.

Trivia

Sam mispronounces "brother" as "brubber" and "decorate" as "blecorate."
She is similar to the Incredible Hulk, due to her speaking in the third person, her exceeding strength, and her getting angry easily.
She has the same hair color as her mother in the original show.
In the episode "Something Smells," Patrick mentions that he does not have a sister, contrary to Sam's and Squidina's existence.
- The inconsistency in "Something Smells" could be seen as Patrick not remembering Sam or Squidina, from either his low intelligence or that for Sam was lost in the surf when Patrick was very young. Additionally, neither Sam nor Squidina were designed at the time of the episode's airing, so they were likely added to the series' continuity later on.
  - This was later confirmed in the episode “SpongeBob and Patrick's Timeline Twist-Up.”
According to Vincent Waller, they were considering adding Sam to The Patrick Star Show, but she did not appear at the start of the series, with Squidina Star instead taking her place as Patrick's sister.^[5]
- Sam would later appear in The Patrick Star Show, albeit as a background character, in the episodes "Klopnodian Heritage Festival" and "Tying the Klop-Knot."
