Slicks are robots that appear as an enemy in Battle for Bikini Bottom and Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated as the fourteenth and final robot SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy encounter in their adventures. In its introductory cutscene, a Bikini Bottomite is seen popping a Slick's bubble by throwing a rock, causing the robot to shoot an oil blob at him, slipping off, only for another Bikini Bottomite to throw a sink at it, walking away and eventually beginning to target SpongeBob in its crosshairs, intimidating SpongeBob in the process.

Description

Slicks are massive robots that tower above most other non-boss robots. Their head, torsos, shoulders, and hands are chrome, and they have octagon-shaped, lime-green eyes and antennas on the sides of their heads. Instead of having legs, they have three inner tubes that they use for mobility, apparently by gliding across the ground. They hold what appears to be an oil can in their left hand and a bubble wand in their right hand. They also have a hatch on their chest with a lever.

In Rehydrated, their eyes are rounder; they now have a tube-like body with a gauge on their upper chest and the hatch in the tube part.

Role in games

Slicks are rare enemies first seen in the Flying Dutchman's Graveyard, only appearing elsewhere in SpongeBob's Dream. It can shoot oil blobs at the player from a long distance. The oil blobs leave behind puddles on the ground that while harmless, are hard to walk in because they are slippery.

Slicks are protected by an oil bubble that can be destroyed in one hit. As SpongeBob, it is best to destroy the bubble with the Bubble Bowl or Cruise Bubble, as physical contact does damage. If they wait long enough after they have popped Slick's bubble shield, Slick will regenerate the bubble shield. However, Sandy can lasso a Slick and destroy it even if it has its shield up. After the bubble shield is destroyed, they usually take three hits to destroy, although can be destroyed in one hit with a Bubble Bowl, Cruise Bubble, or just being lucky with a basic attack. Destroying a Slick earns the player one-hundred Shiny Objects, the highest amount of any object or enemy in the game.
